Holding an independent certification from Australian Certified Organic ACO and COSMOS internationally recognised standard, ensures all products have been produced in a manner that is both ecologically sustainable and harmonious.
Products are supported by clinical data and are entirely free from harmful ingredients. With an organic certification, products are proven free from parabens, SLS or other sodium sulphates, phthalates, phenoxyethanol, PEGs, propylene glycol, artificial colours, synthetic fragrances, talc, and dimethicone.
Personal care and cosmetic product formulations are like recipes that contain various ingredients, some of which may have undergone processing before being added to the final product.
The organic standard for cosmetics and skincare was established in 2002 and has since undergone several modifications and amendments as the demand for green chemistry continues to grow. However, the terms 'non-toxic' and 'organic' are not consistently defined or regulated globally, leading to their misuse by some brands in their marketing materials. While 'organic' may be used in a product's name or description, it may not necessarily be certified as such.
The ‘certified organic’ guarantee and use of a third-party logo such as COSMOS differ significantly from claims that a product contains 'organic ingredients.' The term "certified organic" is used to indicate that a product has been produced and processed using organic farming methods, and has been certified by a third-party organization to meet specific organic standards.
An external auditor's role during the certification process is to ensure that processors, growers, and manufacturers follow the organic philosophy and regulations throughout the supply chain, ensuring that the product is free from synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, and other harmful chemicals that can harm the environment, as well as the health of people who use them.
